The Milton Masonic Hall burned to the ground Saturday, January 23rd. The 1870s building was listed on the SPWCH's original Historic Dozen list. The Keystone Lodge No. 161 of the Free & Accepted Masons celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2012. The lodge moved to the Milton hall in 1881, where the lodge had met monthly ever since. Though Keystone is not the oldest Masonic lodge in Calaveras County, it was the only one to meet in the same building since the 19th century. More on the lodge and building appears in Vol. V of the "Something From Nothing" compilation. (Photo by Sal Manna) #lovingcalaveras
