Oxford University in England has taken notice of the little town of Wallace as well as the Society for the Preservation of West Calaveras History. A just published book from the prestigious Oxford University Press credits the SPWCH and also footnotes founder Sal Manna. "Alfred Russel Wallace: Letters From The Malay Archipelago," with a foreword by Sir David Attenborough, was edited by John van Wyhe and Kees Rookmaaker. Manna provided an illustration of John Wallace, Alfred's older brother and the man after whom the town was named, as well as family information.
