March 26, 2019 - The Society for the Preservation of West Calaveras History (SPWCH) has presented Terry Beaudoin with its 2019 Richard Taylor Pioneer Award. Honoring individuals who have contributed to the preservation of local history, this year’s award recognizes olive company owner Beaudoin for his work in “reclaiming west Calaveras County’s rightful place in olive history.” Beaudoin is the proprietor of Beaudoin’s Olive Products in Double Springs and the co-author of the Images of America book “Olives in California’s Gold Country.”
Beaudoin was presented with the award’s traditional elements--a framed certificate and a ceremonial railroad spike. Previous Pioneer Award honorees have been Tom Duke, Mervyn Kirk, David Earl Evans Jr., Shannon Van Zant, Judith Marvin, Nick Baptista and Vip Hale, and Mary Jane Genochio. (Photo by Melinda Gardner.)
